MAY
The spicy chilli plant radiates its vibrant & mouth numbing colour. Their cooling counterpart is the bright green, sour & acidic stylings of the lovely lime. This citrus gem lends itself beautifully to refreshing drinks & flavourings for desserts, condiments, salad dressings, meats & vegetables.
Also in season is the unusual purple potato, an ‘out there’ vegetable, determined to be different & to add it’s bright purple colour to any dishes it dares. The most crucial of all vegetables, the onion loves Autumn too. The grand daddy of them all, there is rarely a dish that doesn’t require its eye watering appeal.
May is also the season for the delicate flannel flower to bloom, looking like a fragile piece of vintage couture. In contrast the pom pom chrysanthemum excitedly waves it’s colourful blossoms like a fresh faced cheerleader. It teases – May I take your order? Well, yes you May.
